I live and work in Oxford, a place known as the city of dreaming spires, and I draw inspiration from the history woven into the fabric of the city.
I specialise in screen printing as a method of art. The traditional process helps to anchor my art work in a world of fast moving technology. Mixing of paints and the application of them onto paper requires me to have an immediate connection to the printed artwork I make.
The process of screen printing is something between a painting and a mechanised task. It gives a quality of finish which is hard to achieve by more modern methods, and in my case a situation where the artists hand has played a significant role.
Being a member of a Printmakers Co Operative, I can often be found among etching presses and printing tables refining my ideas and techniques (ie. drinking tea).
